Chief Financial Officer – Remote (Canada)

About the role

The organization is seeking an experienced financial executive to lead its finance function on a national scale. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the CFO will provide strategic and operational leadership for financial management, risk oversight, reporting, compliance and governance. This remote position supports the mission of strengthening housing outcomes across Canadian communities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and oversee the organization’s financial strategy, budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Establish and maintain robust financial systems, controls and reporting frameworks.
• Provide strategic advice to senior leadership and the Board while managing day‑to‑day financial operations.
• Lead risk management, compliance and audit activities to ensure accountability.
• Build and mentor a lean finance team capable of supporting organizational growth.

Required profile

• CPA‑designated professional with extensive experience in financial management, governance and compliance.
• Proven track record of implementing financial systems and controls in complex, accountable environments.
• Demonstrated ability to support executive and Board decision‑making.
• Strong judgment, integrity and a commitment to housing as a public‑interest mandate.
