Chief Executive Officer (CEO) – Healthcare Organization

About the role

The Chief Executive Officer will lead North Shore Health Network (NSHN), a publicly funded, multi‑site healthcare organization serving rural and remote communities across Northern Ontario. This senior leader will guide the organization through a pivotal period of infrastructure planning, financial sustainability, and workforce stability.

Key responsibilities

• Provide consistent, strategic leadership and disciplined execution across all sites.
• Advance NSHN’s priorities in financial sustainability, workforce stability, and quality of care.
• Lead the organization‑wide infrastructure review and planning for future emergency and acute care services in Central Algoma.
• Engage and build strong relationships with physicians, Indigenous partners, community stakeholders, municipalities, government, and other health system partners.
• Ensure seamless transitions between acute care, long‑term care, and community services to improve patient outcomes.

Required profile

• Proven senior executive experience in a complex, publicly funded healthcare environment.
• Demonstrated ability to lead through organizational disruption and system pressures.
• Strong track record of stakeholder engagement and community partnership, especially with Indigenous communities.
• Strategic vision for rural health service delivery and infrastructure development.
