Cheese Maker (Fromager)

About the role

Saputo Produits Laitiers Canada is hiring a full-time permanent Cheese Maker (Fromager) for its St-Raymond plant. The role covers cheese production tasks, with night shifts from 16:00 to 04:00 on a 3-2-2-3 rotation. Pay is $29.95 per hour plus night and evening shift premiums.

Key responsibilities

• Making cheese according to recipes, protocols and production schedules
• Ensuring hygiene and food safety rules are followed
• Adding ingredients according to predetermined recipes
• Measuring pH, acidity and fat, and monitoring product quality with corrective actions when needed
• Calculating the milk and cream needed in vats
• Controlling production steps: pressing, cutting, stirring and brining
• Filling production logs and reports in line with procedures
• Cleaning and sanitising equipment and performing other related tasks

Required profile

• More than 8 years of production experience in the dairy processing industry
• Secondary school diploma or equivalent
• Food safety training
• French-speaking
• Cheese-making training

Required skills

• FT1 (Milko-Scan) milk analyser
• Basic to intermediate Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
