About the role
The University of Manchester invites applications for a Chair in Health & Care Inequalities. This senior professorial position provides strategic leadership for research, innovation and teaching within the Division of Nursing, Midwifery and Social Work.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and deliver a high‑impact, externally funded research programme on health and care inequalities.
- Shape contemporary research agendas and contribute to interdisciplinary, cross‑faculty challenges.
- Produce and disseminate research outputs of national and international standing.
- Translate research findings into practice and policy across clinical, community and public settings.
- Provide academic leadership, mentor early‑ and mid‑career researchers, and supervise postgraduate students.
Required profile
- PhD in a relevant discipline.
- Internationally recognised research record with a strong publication history.
- Proven success in securing and leading externally funded research programmes.
- Demonstrated leadership in research development, impact and engagement.
- Commitment to equality, diversity, inclusion and social responsibility.
