Casual Safety Advisor – Restoration/Plant Turnarounds/HSE

About the role

We are building a talent pool of local Safety Advisors for casual, project‑based assignments across Western Canada. The role supports short‑term industrial, construction, restoration and plant turnaround projects, often in remote locations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist site crews, contractors and client representatives with daily safety expectations.
• Conduct safety observations, inspections and hazard assessments.
• Facilitate orientations, toolbox talks and safety meetings.
• Monitor work activities for compliance with company, client and regulatory requirements.
• Support incident, near‑miss and hazard reporting processes.
• Review documentation such as FLHAs, permits, JHAs and other safety paperwork.

Required profile

• Hold an NCSO, CSO, HSO, HSE designation or equivalent safety background.
• Previous experience as a Safety Advisor, HSE, CSO, HSO or similar field safety role.
• Willingness to travel and stay in remote locations as required.
• Ability to work independently and communicate clearly with crews, supervisors and clients.
• Strong attention to detail and documentation.
• Valid driver’s licence preferred.

Required skills

• Hazard assessment and incident reporting.
• Site safety inspections and compliance monitoring.
• First Aid, H2S Alive, CSTS, Confined Space, Fall Protection, WHMIS certifications (considered assets).
• CRST or CRSP designation (strong asset).
