Cash Inventory Clerk

About the role

Metrolinx is seeking a Cash Inventory Clerk on a 12‑month contract to support its Treasury Room. The role is based on‑site at the Wolfedale Road office and focuses on accurate cash handling, inventory management and reconciliation for the agency’s fare‑collection operations.

Key responsibilities

• Process, count, sort and wrap cash revenue from fare services.
• Ensure all cash receipts are accurately processed, reconciled and deposited.
• Maintain inventory of cash, ticket stock and supplies for Metrolinx sales locations and vending machines.
• Perform daily data entry, validation and clerical duties to keep cash and inventory records up to date.
• Validate treasury reports and track issues to resolution.
• Monitor vending‑machine cash levels and coordinate collection and replenishment schedules.
• Assist with troubleshooting field device issues using established SOPs.
• Participate in onboarding and field training of new Cash Inventory Clerks.
• Collaborate with Revenue Accounting, Station Operations, PRESTO Operations and internal mail services.

Required profile

• High school diploma required; post‑secondary education in Business, Accounting or a related field is an asset.
• Minimum 2 years experience handling large volumes of cash using cash‑processing equipment.
• Experience in logistics or cash inventory management is an asset.
• Ability to work strict start and end times in a sensitive environment.
