Capital Markets Transactions - Senior Associate

About the role

PwC's Capital Markets Accounting Advisory Services (CMAAS) team supports clients through accounting advice on acquisitions, divestitures, restructuring, capital transactions such as IPOs and digital transformation projects. The Prospectus Centre of Excellence team delivers consistent, high-quality prospectus-related services for complex financing transactions. As a Capital Markets Transactions Senior Associate in Calgary, you will prepare, coordinate and review prospectuses and related deliverables, working with global delivery teams and interacting regularly with senior management, bankers, lawyers and other advisers.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, coordinate and review prospectuses and offering-related deliverables, including comfort letters, due diligence correspondence and consent letters, across a wide range of financing transactions
• Work with PwC audit teams and clients to deliver consistent quality, technical accuracy and efficient execution
• Liaise with external legal counsel, underwriters and client contacts to manage timelines and resolve review comments
• Take on review and coaching responsibilities and support the development of team members
• Contribute to standardized processes, tools, training materials and digital solutions that improve quality and efficiency

Required profile

• Experience in public accounting, accounting advisory, financial reporting or a deals-focused environment
• Canadian CPA designation, or an equivalent recognized or reciprocal designation
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Team-oriented mindset and strong written and verbal communication skills

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of IFRS, US GAAP and ASPE is considered an asset
• Financial reporting, financial modeling and accounting advisory

The salary range is $58,400 - $97,500, based on skills, experience, qualifications and location; eligible employees may also participate in variable incentive pay programs. The role is not open to work visa sponsorship.
