About the role
McGill University invites world‑leading researchers to apply for the Canada Impact+ Research Chair in Health, including Biotechnology. The position is a tenure‑track appointment at the rank of Associate or Full Professor, focused on translating cutting‑edge health research into societal and economic benefits.
Key responsibilities
- Lead ambitious, transformative research projects in health and biotechnology aligned with Canada’s strategic priorities.
- Build and manage high‑performing, interdisciplinary research teams.
- Collaborate with industry, government, and international partners to drive commercialization and impact.
- Mentor and develop the next generation of highly qualified personnel.
- Secure and manage long‑term funding, including the Impact+ award valued at $4‑8 million over eight years.
Required profile
- Recent track record of outstanding research accomplishments in health or biotechnology.
- Currently residing and working outside Canada at the time of application.
- Eligibility for a tenure‑track appointment with promotion to Full Professor within two years.
- Commitment to start the position within 12 months of award acceptance.
