About the role
Norwest Millwork Ltd is seeking an experienced foreperson to lead a team of cabinetmakers, apprentices, and labourers in a North Vancouver workshop. The role involves overseeing daily production, ensuring quality, and maintaining a safe work environment.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare production reports and other documentation.
- Resolve work problems, provide technical advice, and recommend productivity improvements.
- Supervise workers and projects, coordinate and schedule activities.
- Train staff or arrange for training, and recommend personnel actions.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Read blueprints and drawings to establish methods that meet work schedules.
- Requisition materials, equipment, and supplies.
- Inspect sites and workplaces for safety and cleanliness standards.
Required profile
- Secondary school graduation certificate.
- Minimum 5 years of experience supervising cabinetmakers or similar trades.
- Valid driver’s licence.
- Strong client focus, excellent oral communication, good judgement, and organized time management.
- Leadership qualities and ability to work as a team player.
