Box Office Attendant

About the role

The Box Office Attendant provides front‑line support for ticket sales and customer inquiries at McGill University’s concert venues. This part‑time, work‑study position is ideal for a current student who enjoys interacting with the public and handling cash and card transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Sell tickets in person and by phone using a web‑based ticketing system (training provided).
• Balance and account for daily credit and debit card receipts.
• Distribute reserved tickets and manage ticket inventory.
• Answer phone inquiries about concert schedules, programs, and locations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Communications & Production unit.

Required profile

• Customer‑service oriented, able to multitask and work under pressure.
• Available to work days, evenings and weekends on a flexible schedule.
• High‑level conversational French and English.
• Basic knowledge of concert music; CPR and First Aid training are assets.
• Must be a current McGill student accepted into the Work‑Study program and authorized to work in Canada.
• High school diploma required; no prior experience necessary.

Required skills

• Use of a web‑based ticketing system.
• Cash handling and credit/debit card processing.
• CPR and First Aid (preferred).

What we offer

• Hourly wage of $16.85 CAD.
• Part‑time schedule (approximately 2 hours per week) with flexible hours based on event activity.
