Bosun – Deck Operations Leader (Rotational)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Bosun to lead deck operations on MV Isabelle X/Saga‑Company vessels based in Squamish, BC. This rotational position offers a three‑year schedule with the possibility of extension, providing a dynamic maritime environment.

Key responsibilities

• Set up daily work schedules under the Chief Officer’s direction and allocate tasks to deck crew.
• Organise deck operations, supplies, and maintenance including chipping, painting, and buffing.
• Maintain the ship’s windlass and ensure optimal performance.
• Carry out necessary onboard repairs and oversee mooring, anchoring, and vessel activities.
• Act as the liaison between officers and crew for all shipboard work.
• Report progress of deck work to the Chief Officer.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years professional experience as a Bosun.
• STCW Reg. II/5 rating as an able‑seafarer (deck).
• STCW Reg. VI/1 safety familiarisation, basic training, and instruction.
• STCW Reg. VI/2 proficiency in survival craft, rescue boats, and fast rescue boats.
• SOLAS Chapter III evacuation slide training.
• STCW Reg. VI/6 security‑related training.
• STCW crowd‑management training.
• STCW special training for ro/ro passenger ships.
• Forklift driver training.
• Excellent written and verbal English.
• Ability to pass drug and alcohol tests.

What we offer
