Billing Analyst (Nuclear)

About the role

Black & McDonald’s Power Generation team is seeking a Billing Analyst to manage the end‑to‑end accounts receivable cycle for nuclear projects. You will ensure accurate invoicing, timely collections, and effective cash application while supporting project managers and client stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, validate and issue customer invoices in line with contract terms and rate schedules.
• Monitor accounts receivable aging, follow up on outstanding balances and drive collections activities.
• Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies, including timesheet variances and rate mismatches.
• Perform cash application, reconcile payments to invoices and maintain AR subledger accuracy.
• Execute AR account reconciliations, subledger‑to‑GL tie‑outs and client account balancing.
• Collaborate with Project Controls, Project Managers and clients to ensure accurate billing inputs and timely dispute resolution.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 2–5 years of experience in accounts receivable, billing or related finance function.
• Experience in a project‑based or construction environment is strongly preferred.
• Ability to obtain and maintain client security clearance if required.

Required skills

• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel (lookups, pivot tables, reconciliations).
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably JD Edwards.
• Familiarity with client billing portals and complex invoice submissions.
• Knowledge of data visualization tools such as Power BI (asset).
