Baker – Floatel Vessel

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Baker to join our crew aboard the MV Isabelle X/Saga‑Company vessels operating out of Squamish, BC. The role is rotational, full‑time and supports the Floatel Operations by delivering fresh bakery and pastry items for crew and guests.

Key responsibilities

• Organise and manage bakery, pastry buffet and Grab‑n‑Go preparation and service according to the menu.
• Prepare shift checklists, set up and sanitise workstations, and maintain equipment such as dough machines, sheeters, proofer, ovens and fryers.
• Maintain chiller and temperature records, and ensure proper care of all bakery equipment.
• Requisition food items with chef approval and label each product with name and date.
• Respond to urgent chef requests, wear required PPE, and communicate effectively with the team.
• Complete hand‑over notes for the incoming crew and uphold high personal hygiene standards.

Required profile

• Culinary diploma or related training preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of culinary techniques, food preparation and presentation.
• Strong attention to detail, ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Valid MED Domestic Vessel Safety certificate, Crowd and Crisis Management certificate, and marine medical certificate (employer support provided).
