Associate Veterinarian – Equine Sports Medicine

About the role

Delaney Veterinary Services, part of the Altano Group, is seeking an Associate Veterinarian with a focus on equine sports medicine. You will work in a dedicated Sports Medicine/Lameness facility and support the health and performance of equine athletes across central and northern Alberta.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily lameness examinations in the Sports Medicine/Lameness facility.
• Conduct lameness evaluations in surrounding barns.
• Share after‑hours on‑call duties equally with the veterinary team.
• Provide high‑level sports medicine care and collaborate on treatment plans.
• Assist with advanced diagnostics, rehabilitation, and surgical cases as needed.

Required profile

• Licensed equine veterinarian with a veterinary degree.
• Strong interest in sports medicine and willingness to develop expertise.
• Ability to work effectively in a team‑oriented environment.
• Commitment to delivering compassionate, high‑quality care.
