Associate Prospective Student Advisor

About the role

The Associate Prospective Student Advisor provides a welcoming first impression of UBC and delivers front‑line advising services to prospective undergraduate students, their families, agents and guidance counsellors. Working primarily on the Vancouver campus, the role supports both Canadian and international recruitment initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, develop and implement innovative in‑person, phone and online advising programs.
• Conduct one‑on‑one and group advising sessions through various channels, including the university CRM.
• Encourage prospective students to apply, complete their applications and accept offers of admission.
• Collaborate with Welcome Centre staff, recruiting teams, admissions, student support, and academic units.
• Provide accurate information about UBC programs, admission requirements and support services.

Required profile

• Demonstrated knowledge of university programs and admission processes.
• Experience advising prospective students, both domestic and international.
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
