Associate Lawyer – Banking & Financial Services

About the role

Our client, a nationally recognised financial services firm, is seeking a mid‑level Associate Lawyer to join its Banking & Financial Services team in Calgary. The role involves delivering comprehensive legal advice to lender‑side and borrower‑side clients across a broad spectrum of financing transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal counsel on syndicated lending, leveraged finance, asset‑based loans, and project/infrastructure finance.
• Draft and negotiate agreements for energy, equipment, real estate, structured finance and securitisation transactions.
• Represent major Canadian, U.S., European and other international financial institutions.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure seamless transaction execution.

Required profile

• 3‑7 years of post‑call experience in private practice focused on banking and financial services.
• Qualified to practice law in Canada.
• Strong analytical and drafting abilities with above‑average academic credentials.
• Exceptional interpersonal and client service skills.
