About the role
A Calgary‑based practice with an active restructuring and insolvency group is looking for an associate to join its team. The role involves handling corporate restructuring, receivership and insolvency matters for clients across Alberta.
Key responsibilities
- Support restructuring, receivership and insolvency proceedings.
- Draft pleadings, court materials and communications for creditors and stakeholders.
- Conduct legal research on insolvency and secured transactions law.
- Attend court appearances and participate in stakeholder negotiations.
- Collaborate with senior counsel on complex multi‑party files.
Required profile
- Called to the Bar in Alberta and in good standing.
- 1‑5 years of experience in restructuring, insolvency or related commercial litigation.
- Strong analytical, research and drafting abilities.
- Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines in fast‑moving matters.
- Interest in building a specialised restructuring practice.
