Associate Consultant - Business & Operations
Matrix_Professional_Staffing_Solutions_Inc.
Job description
About the role
Matrix, a boutique consulting and professional services firm, is looking for Associate Consultants to join its professional contractor network and support client engagements across many industries. The work is project-based and remote or hybrid, with occasional client-site visits. It suits people with strong research, analytical, organizational, writing and project-support skills who can contribute under the direction of a Senior Advisor, Project Lead or other Matrix professional.
Key responsibilities
- Research and business analysis: gather, organize and analyze business and operational information, run benchmarking and comparative research, identify trends and issues, and prepare summaries, notes and briefing materials.
- Process and operations analysis: map business and administrative processes, document current-state and proposed workflows, review procedures, identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks, and support process-improvement recommendations.
- Project and administrative support: plan and coordinate projects, track activities and deliverables, maintain documentation, coordinate stakeholder information, prepare meeting materials and follow-ups, and update project status.
- Client deliverables: help prepare reports, presentations, briefing materials, research summaries, process maps, workflow documentation, data summaries, recommendations and other deliverables.
- Stakeholder support: take part in client meetings and discussions, communicate professionally, prepare agendas and notes, and handle confidential client information with discretion.
Required profile
- Approximately 5-10 years of relevant experience in consulting, business administration, professional services, government or public-sector environments, business analysis, research, project coordination, operations, administration, program support or related fields.
- Equivalent education and practical experience will be considered.
- A degree, diploma or professional training in a relevant field such as business administration, commerce, public administration, economics, communications, project management, organizational studies, information management, human resources or operations is an asset.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage multiple assignments and priorities, and adapt to different organizations and industries.
Required skills
- Strong analytical, research and information-management skills, with excellent written communication and attention to detail.
- Comfort with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Microsoft Teams, Zoom and SharePoint, and cloud-based document-management and project-management platforms.
- Experience with business-management, accounting, healthcare, government or industry-specific platforms is an asset.
This is an independent contractor, project-based engagement, not an employment position. Contractors manage their own work, set their own schedule and are responsible for their own taxes, insurance and business expenses. Matrix provides the client relationship, scope and deliverables through its online project-management platform.
