Assistant Professor (Grant Tenure-Track) – Respiratory Medicine

About the role
The University of British Columbia’s Department of Medicine is seeking a full‑time Assistant Professor on a grant‑tenure‑track basis. The successful candidate will join the Division of Respiratory Medicine and be based at the Centre for Lung Health, contributing to world‑class research, teaching, and clinical activities.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and lead an independent, grant‑supported research program in respiratory health.
- Teach undergraduate, graduate and professional students in medicine and related fields.
- Provide clinical expertise and mentorship to trainees and junior faculty.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams across the Data Sciences and Health Research Cluster, the Data Science Institute, and the Academy of Translational Medicine.
- Engage with external partners such as the BC Centre for Disease Control and the BC Ministry of Health.
Required profile
- Medical degree with board certification in respirology.
- Strong record of scholarly productivity and external funding.
- Commitment to excellence in teaching and mentorship.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a large, multi‑disciplinary academic environment.
