Assistant Professor (Clinical) – Geriatric Medicine

About the role

The Department of Medicine at McGill University Health Centre seeks a full‑time Clinician‑Teacher at the rank of Assistant Professor (Clinical) to join its Geriatric Medicine division. The position focuses on delivering high‑quality education to medical trainees while maintaining an active clinical practice.

Key responsibilities

• Provide didactic and bedside teaching to undergraduate, graduate and resident learners.
• Serve as a consultant geriatrician on inpatient units at the Lachine Hospital (minimum 50% of clinical time).
• Develop and expand geriatric consultation services in the emergency department and outpatient settings.
• Participate in evening and weekend on‑call duties across all adult MUHC sites.
• Engage in research activities, supervise students and residents, and contribute to academic committees.

Required profile

• Board‑certified or eligible in Geriatric Medicine.
• Demonstrated excellence in clinical teaching and mentorship.
• Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in academic environments.
• Ability to collaborate across multiple hospital sites within the MUHC network.

Required skills

• Clinical expertise in geriatric assessment and management.
