Animal Care Trainer – Toxicology Team

About the role

The Animal Care Trainer will join Charles River's Toxicology team in Laval to provide hands‑on training to technical staff on animal room cleaning, restraint methods, and data recording. The role ensures that training records are current and that all procedures comply with GLP, SOPs, and IACUC regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Train staff on animal room cleaning, restraint techniques, and accurate data capture (body weight, food consumption, clinical signs).
• Assess trainees’ understanding and competency after each session.
• Maintain training documentation and ensure alignment with regulatory requirements.
• Support process‑improvement initiatives and communicate training outcomes to department supervisors.

Required profile

• High school diploma.
• 2–3 years of experience as an Animal Care Clerk or Attendant in a research environment.
• Strong observation skills and ability to inspire trust through interpersonal collaboration.
• Physical ability to lift up to 20 kg and perform routine movements (walk, stand, stoop).
