AI Software Development Engineer in Test

About the role

Trimble is looking for an AI Software Development Engineer in Test to join its team advancing Agentic AI capabilities for its construction collaboration products. The role leads quality assurance and test execution for new AI components embedded in Trimble software, designs custom AI testing tools and helps accelerate release cycles while improving product quality.

Key responsibilities

• Lead quality assurance and test execution for new AI components embedded in Trimble software.
• Design, develop and adapt custom AI testing tools and automated frameworks to boost team productivity.
• Pioneer and advocate for modern AI test tools, best practices and automation pipelines across the global QA community.
• Implement automated workflows to continuously evaluate and improve software release quality.
• Identify and mitigate model biases and risks to ensure high-performing AI features.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• At least two years of software QA and test automation experience.
• Proven experience testing embedded AI products or applying basic AI concepts such as LLMs, NLP and machine learning.
• Ability to build AI agents using diverse AI tools within a QA framework.

Required skills

• Test automation with Python, C# or Java and strong QA process fundamentals.
• Familiarity with Model Context Protocol (MCP) server environments and agentic AI workflows.
• Bonus points: testing embedded AI, chatbots or cloud/virtualization deployments; performance and security testing; construction back-office or accounting workflows; Jira.

The position is based in Kamloops, Canada, onsite four days per week, with minimal travel. Candidates apply through the online application form on the posting.
