Agriculture/Horticulture Technical Services Representative (Contract)

About the role

The Agriculture/Horticulture Technical Services Representative will join BASF’s Agricultural Solutions team in Ontario on a 12‑month contract. This field‑based role focuses on creating demand for BASF products through large‑scale grower trials, demonstration sites, and technical support for customers and sales teams.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, execute and manage demand‑creation trials, including operating spraying, maintenance and harvest equipment.
• Supervise Technical Agronomy Interns who assist with trial implementation and data collection.
• Coordinate third‑party research and demonstration sites.
• Build and maintain relationships with key centers of influence such as universities, consultants, extension staff and retail agronomists.
• Develop and deliver technical presentations to internal and external audiences.
• Provide technical training and support to the sales force and address product usage inquiries.

Required profile

• Strong background in agronomy or horticulture with hands‑on field experience.
• Ability to travel extensively across the region and work on‑site.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with growers, researchers and sales teams.
• Capacity to analyse trial data and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
