Accounts Receivable Clerk

About the role

The Accounts Receivable Clerk supports the Office Manager by handling all aspects of customer charge accounts, ensuring timely collections and accurate record‑keeping in line with company policy.

Key responsibilities

• Process customer payments according to company policy and follow the branch collection strategy.
• Monitor accounts for non‑payment, skipped invoices and partial payments, and communicate collection status to management.
• Organise recovery efforts, initiate collection actions and prepare monthly/quarterly closing statements and reports.
• Contact customers by phone, email or in person to arrange payment on delinquent accounts.
• Perform credit reference checks on applications and report findings.
• Investigate and resolve customer inquiries promptly and submit accounts for bad‑debt write‑off.
• Prepare and send invoices via fax or email and perform other general office tasks as required.

Required profile

• Proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel for aging and past‑due account reporting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Strong interpersonal abilities and a collaborative team mindset.
• Highly organised, detail‑oriented and capable of multitasking.
• Demonstrated experience in collection activities and general business procedures.
• Basic business or related experience and solid data‑entry skills.
