About the role
Medtronic is seeking an Accountant to join its finance team. You will support the full accounting cycle across multiple entities, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, reclassifications, and adjustments.
- Support month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close activities, delivering timely and accurate results.
- Perform balance‑sheet reconciliations and P&L analysis, investigating and resolving variances.
- Execute and review reclassifications to ensure proper accounting treatment.
- Analyze financial results and provide insights for business decisions.
- Prepare and deliver financial reports highlighting key variances and trends.
- Calculate, prepare, and file indirect taxes (GST/HST, sales taxes) and reconcile tax accounts.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to resolve discrepancies and maintain data accuracy.
- Maintain documentation in line with internal controls and company policies.
- Identify and drive process improvements, automation, and standardization.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and documentation.
Required profile
- Strong collaboration skills with business partners to resolve financial issues.
- Ability to identify opportunities for improving accounting processes and controls.
- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in financial reporting.
