Accountant – Financial Reporting & Tax

About the role

Medtronic is seeking an Accountant to join its finance team. You will be responsible for preparing journal entries, supporting month‑end close, and ensuring accurate financial reporting across multiple entities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, reclassifications, and adjustments in line with Medtronic policies.
• Support month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close activities, delivering timely and accurate results.
• Perform balance‑sheet reconciliations and P&L analysis, investigating and resolving variances.
• Execute and review P&L and balance‑sheet reclassifications to meet reporting requirements.
• Analyze financial results and provide insights for business decisions.
• Calculate, prepare and file indirect taxes (GST/HST, sales taxes) and reconcile tax accounts.
• Collaborate with FP&A, Payroll, Trade, Shared Services and Operations to resolve data discrepancies.
• Maintain documentation for internal controls and support internal/external audits.
• Identify and drive process improvements, automation and standardisation.

Required profile

• Proven experience in accounting, month‑end close, balance‑sheet reconciliations and tax filings.
• Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams.
• Continuous improvement mindset.
