Vice President, Finance & Operations

About the role

The Ontario Centre of Innovation (OCI) is seeking a Vice President of Finance & Operations to join its executive leadership team in Toronto. Reporting directly to the President & CEO, the VP will be responsible for safeguarding OCI’s financial health, driving operational excellence, and supporting the organization’s growth across its diverse funding programmes and partnerships.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic financial leadership, overseeing accounting, budgeting, reporting and cash‑flow management.
• Manage complex grant and investment funding streams, ensuring compliance, stewardship and accountability.
• Lead information technology, facilities, risk management and overall operational performance.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO, Board of Directors and Finance & Audit Committee.
• Oversee OneEleven, Canada’s community of venture‑backed technology scale‑ups, and coordinate with government funders and ecosystem partners.
• Develop and implement financial policies, controls and governance frameworks.

Required profile

• Extensive senior‑level finance experience in multi‑stakeholder, public‑or private‑sector organisations.
• Proven track record working with Boards and Finance & Audit Committees.
• Demonstrated ability to manage grants, investments and multiple funding sources.
• Strong business judgment, entrepreneurial mindset and commitment to public‑sector accountability.
