Utility Locating Technician – Burnaby

About the role

We are looking for experienced and enthusiastic Utility Locating Technicians wanting to further their careers and grow with our passionate and forward‑thinking team. Our technicians locate underground utilities on‑site using geophysical equipment such as Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), interpret and mark results, and draft detailed reports such as Subsurface Utilities Engineering (SUE).

Key responsibilities

• Visit various work sites in all weather conditions and perform office tasks as needed.
• Read and interpret site plans, construction prints and maps to locate subsurface utility facilities.
• Locate and mark subsurface utilities using a range of geophysical tools.
• Provide digital drawings and detailed reports to clients and communicate important findings.
• Follow all health and safety protocols.

Required profile

• Valid Class 5 BC driver’s licence with a clean driving abstract.
• Minimum 3 years of utility locating experience.
• Experience interpreting location maps, sketches and construction prints.
• Strong computer skills; experience with CAD software and GPS is an asset.
• Hands‑on experience with Electromagnetic (EM) survey equipment and Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR).
