Acoustical Consultant

About the role

BKL is seeking a full‑time Acoustical Consultant to provide world‑class technical expertise on a variety of architectural and environmental noise projects. The role is based in Burnaby, BC, with a hybrid work arrangement and the possibility of remote work within Canada.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver end‑to‑end project management, from proposal preparation and fee estimates to measurements, acoustical modelling, data analysis and final reporting.
• Work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating with other consultants and guiding junior and intermediate team members.
• Present technical findings to clients, peers and regulatory bodies, and act as an advocate for acoustics and BKL.
• Support and coordinate the broader team of engineers, project managers, financial controllers and administrators.

Required profile

• 4–6 years of consulting experience in acoustics.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Acoustics or a related field.
• Professional Engineering designation (P.Eng. or equivalent).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and work with a high level of professionalism.

• Acoustical modelling and analysis software.
• Sound and vibration measurement equipment and methodologies.
• Microsoft Office suite.
• Drafting and acoustics-specific software applications.
• Establishing and maintaining QA/QC procedures.
