Maintenance Worker – Contract (6 months)

About the role

The Maintenance Worker is responsible for maintaining the physical condition of Ecuhome’s residential properties and ensuring compliance with municipal and provincial regulations. This full‑time, six‑month contract supports tenants by delivering quality maintenance services and promoting a safe living environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventative maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, janitorial and mechanical repairs.
• Prepare rooms to Ecuhome standards before tenant occupancy and conduct monthly fire and safety inspections.
• Respond to after‑hours emergency calls, assess situations, and coordinate actions with the Maintenance Manager.
• Inspect properties regularly, report issues, and ensure adherence to fire, building, health and safety codes.
• Collaborate with tenants and Housing Support Workers to maintain grounds and equipment.

Required profile

• Reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license.
• High school diploma with at least two years of multi‑unit residential maintenance experience.
• Proven ability to perform semi‑skilled repairs in plumbing, electrical, carpentry and general maintenance.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Comfort interacting with tenants facing mental health or addiction challenges.

What we offer

• Annual salary of $43,378.40 CAD.
• Vehicle allowance of $525.00 per month.
• Full‑time schedule: Monday‑Friday, 9:00 am‑5:00 pm.
• Six‑month contract with potential for renewal.
• Work locations across the old City of Toronto.
