Test Bench Technician

About the role

The Test Bench Technician supports the Production Foreman by ensuring that every pump leaving the facility meets strict performance and safety standards. Working on a dedicated test bench, the technician conducts comprehensive functional tests, validates compliance, and helps guarantee that customers receive reliable equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Install and connect equipment, including electrical wiring and piping, on the test bench.
• Perform pump performance tests: prepare the unit, inspect the motor, run the test and analyse performance curves.
• Maintain, repair and calibrate the test bench and all associated tools.
• Monitor test results, flag non‑conforming pumps and route approved units to downstream processes such as painting.
• Identify production issues, suggest improvements and participate in continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Apply occupational health and safety procedures, conduct risk assessments and keep the work area clean and organised.
• Carry out any additional duties related to test‑bench operations as required.

Required profile

• Diploma in electromechanics, electrical (C licence), electrotechnics or a related field (considered an asset).
• Minimum three years of experience performing pump or equipment performance testing.
• Valid Restricted Electrical Connection Certificate.
• Ability to work autonomously, follow procedures rigorously and maintain high quality standards.
• Good physical condition for frequent crouched work.

• Basic mechanical assembly and maintenance skills.
• Proficiency with standard computer applications.
• Experience with pump performance testing and analysis of performance curves.
• Restricted Electrical Connection certification.
