About the role
The Support Services Coordinator I provides comprehensive administrative, operational, and coordination support to the Directors of the Office of Campus Planning (OCP) and the Office of Infrastructure Development (ID). This role ensures smooth departmental operations across finance, human resources, project administration, and internal communications for five units.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver administrative support to the Directors, including managing calendars, coordinating internal initiatives, and triaging competing priorities.
- Facilitate departmental finance and HR processes, with delegated authority for all financial transactions and confidential HR matters.
- Coordinate web administration, event planning, and engagement activities for OCP and ID.
- Act as a liaison with campus partners, municipal and provincial agencies, and external stakeholders to support service delivery.
- Assist in developing short‑ and long‑range goals aligned with strategic plans of OCP, ID, VPFO, and UBC.
Required profile
- Ability to work independently under general supervision of senior directors.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and communications across five units.
- Experience handling confidential information and financial transactions.
- Effective collaboration with internal and external partners.
