Summer Communications Assistant (Student)

About the role

Prairie Mountain Health is seeking a motivated Summer Student to support its Communications team. The role offers hands‑on experience creating and delivering multi‑media content that promotes health programs and services to internal and external audiences.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in designing and producing digital, web, print and multimedia communication materials.
• Provide visual and content support for brochures, advertisements, presentations, signage and electronic displays while adhering to brand guidelines.
• Collaborate with program staff to gather, organize and publish accurate website content.
• Capture, edit and deliver professional photo, video and audio assets for storytelling, recruitment, training and event promotion.
• Maintain social‑media channels and support content‑management systems.

Required profile

• Full‑time high school, post‑secondary student or recent graduate, at least 16 years old and legally entitled to work in Canada.
• Enrollment in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations or a related program (or equivalent experience).
• Class 5 driver’s licence and access to a personal vehicle for travel within the Prairie Mountain Health region.
• Strong written communication, grammar and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently, solve problems and adapt to changing priorities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with video‑editing software such as Adobe Final Cut Pro and Filmora.
• Experience using design tools like Canva.
• Competence with Microsoft Office suite.
• Familiarity with web‑based design, content‑management platforms and social‑media tools.
