Spooling Technician I

About the role

We are seeking a motivated individual to join our Global Tubing Service Center in Red Deer, AB. The Spooling Technician I will assist in servicing various sizes of coil tubing, maintain shop cleanliness, and ensure compliance with corporate standards and health‑safety programs.

Key responsibilities

• Perform independent, routine, or repetitive assignments using standard work procedures.
• Operate a level wind machine and utilize common hand tools such as circular saws, band saws, impact drills, and hand drills.
• Operate equipment including skid steer, manlift, and forklift.
• Use a dead‑blow hammer to align spooling correctly during the spooling process.
• Collaborate with team members to complete tasks and be available for on‑call or overtime work.
• Carry out general housekeeping duties and actively participate in the company’s HSE program.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Ability to read and comprehend instructions.
• Basic written communication skills.
• Capability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
• Physical ability to regularly lift/move up to 30 lb and frequently lift/move up to 45 lb.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s licence.
• Entry‑level experience; training will be provided.

Required skills

• Level wind operation.
• Use of circular saw, band saw, impact drill, and hand drill.
• Operation of skid steer, manlift, and forklift.
• Use of dead‑blow hammer for spooling alignment.
