Solids Control Field Technician (Remote, Canada)

About the role

Stage 3 is seeking a Solids Control Field Technician to support drilling operations across Canada. The position involves on‑site work at remote locations, rotating 12‑hour shifts on a 14‑days‑on/7‑days‑off schedule. New hires will receive on‑the‑job training and shadow experienced technicians.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee mechanical processes that enhance drilling operations and recycle drilling fluid.
• Rig up and rig down a variety of solids‑control equipment.
• Operate shaker tanks, centrifuges, drying equipment, and pumps.
• Perform fluid analysis (weight, funnel viscosity, retort analysis) and record results.
• Execute solids‑control services such as air drilling, barite recovery, de‑watering, and cuttings drying.
• Carry out routine mechanical and basic electrical maintenance on equipment.
• Operate heavy machinery safely under supervision.
• Maintain a clean work environment using pressure‑washing equipment.
• Participate in daily safety meetings and complete required PJRA/JSA, inspection and observation reports.

Required profile

• Willingness to work 12‑hour swing rotations (day or night) and travel to remote sites across Canada.
• Ability to work 14 days on/7 days off schedule; overtime may be required.
• Safety‑sensitive mindset and commitment to PPE and safety protocols.
• Openness to learn rigging, equipment operation, basic electrical principles, and drilling‑fluid properties.
