Solids Control Field Technician (Remote, Canada)

About the role

Stage 3 is seeking a Solids Control Field Technician to support drilling operations across Canada. The position involves on‑site work at remote project sites, following a 14‑day on / 7‑day off rotational schedule and receiving on‑the‑job training on specialized solids‑control equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Rig up and rig down solids‑control equipment such as shaker tanks, centrifuges, drying units and pumps.
• Operate and monitor drilling fluid properties, perform fluid analysis and maintain equipment performance.
• Execute solids‑control services including air drilling, barite recovery, de‑watering, floc water handling and cuttings drying.
• Perform routine mechanical and basic electrical maintenance on equipment.
• Operate heavy machinery safely under supervision.
• Maintain a clean work environment using pressure‑washing equipment.
• Participate in daily safety meetings and complete required PJRA/JSA, inspection and observation reports.

Required profile

• Willingness to work 12‑hour shifts on a swing rotation (day or night).
• Ability to travel domestically to remote locations throughout Canada.
• Commitment to safety protocols and proper use of PPE.
• Readiness to learn and shadow experienced technicians.
