Skilled Construction Labourer

About the role

Maple Reinders Constructors Ltd. is seeking a Skilled Construction Labourer to join the Makwa Waakaa'igan building project at Algoma University in Sault St. Marie, Ontario. The role involves hands‑on construction work on an industrial‑type campus building, supporting tradespeople and ensuring site safety and cleanliness.

Key responsibilities

• Perform rough and light carpentry tasks, including framing, parapet work, and backing.
• Use power tools, pump water, set up perimeter fencing, clean the site, apply foundation insulation, and install doors, hardware, and washroom accessories.
• Operate telehandlers and skid steers safely and efficiently.
• Conduct snow removal and seasonal maintenance as required.
• Assist and support tradespersons, perform site clean‑up duties, and maintain a safe work environment.

Required profile

• Experience with industrial, commercial, or institutional construction is an asset.
• Valid driver’s licence and personal vehicle.
• Fall‑Arrest certification and a strong safety orientation.
• Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather, both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong work ethic and the capacity to follow direction with minimal supervision.
