Site Supervisor

About the role

SYSTRA Canada is seeking a Site Supervisor to oversee the refurbishment of railway passenger cars. You will ensure that all installation work meets the required standards, drawings, and specifications while maintaining high quality and safety on the shop floor.

Key responsibilities

• Validate contractor installations against drawings, specifications, standards and internal procedures.
• Inspect workmanship quality, record non‑conformities and drive corrective actions.
• Photograph key stages, document observations and produce timely progress reports.
• Compare actual progress with schedules, flag variances and recommend actions.
• Control the use of correct document revisions on site and perform on‑site measurements of railcar systems.
• Generate and update installation procedures with support from the engineering team.
• Safeguard and maintain company equipment, reporting any breakdowns.
• Conduct material inventories, keep registers current and trigger replenishments.
• Perform First Article Inspections (FAI) at suppliers and issue compliance reports.

Required profile

• DEP or equivalent in construction, mechanics, electricity, civil engineering or related field.
• 2–3 years of experience supervising similar technical work.
• Strong ability to read and interpret technical plans and maintain document traceability.
• Excellent verbal and written communication in both French and English.

Required skills

• Reading and interpreting technical drawings.
• Revision control and document traceability.
• Visual and dimensional inspection using calipers, gauges and other measuring tools.
• First Article Inspection (FAI) procedures.
• Use of digital site tools such as DMS/QMS, checklists and office suites.
