Senior Tax Manager - International Tax

About the role

Smythe LLP is looking for a collaborative Senior Tax Manager to lead complex international and cross‑border tax engagements for its growing Vancouver tax team. This leadership position offers a clear pathway to partnership and the chance to shape the firm’s International Tax practice.

Key responsibilities

• Advise clients on complex international and cross‑border tax matters.
• Manage cross‑border tax planning and compliance engagements.
• Lead projects involving EIFEL, FAPI, surplus calculations, foreign reporting, withholding tax, and treaty interpretation.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships as a trusted advisor.
• Mentor and develop high‑performing team members.
• Contribute to practice growth and business development initiatives.

Required profile

• CPA designation.
• 5+ years of Canadian tax experience with a focus on international tax.
• Strong technical knowledge and demonstrated leadership capabilities.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Collaborative, growth‑oriented mindset.
