Senior Pipeline Technical Director

About the role

As a Senior Pipeline Technical Director you will design, develop and maintain the studio’s production pipeline, ensuring efficient data flow across departments. You will work closely with artists, supervisors, production and IT to drive technical initiatives and support both creative and production goals.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain pipeline tools and workflows to support production efficiency and scalability.
• Analyze and troubleshoot pipeline issues, implementing solutions that minimize disruption.
• Collaborate with artists, supervisors, production and IT to align pipeline functionality with project needs.
• Identify workflow improvement opportunities and propose systemic changes.
• Contribute to long‑term pipeline strategy and research new technologies.
• Write clean, maintainable, well‑documented code and participate in code reviews.
• Mentor junior and intermediate Pipeline TDs and maintain documentation.
• Coordinate with IT to deploy third‑party tools and monitor pipeline health.

Required profile

• 5+ years in a technical or pipeline role within animation, VFX or gaming, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead capacity.
• Strong proficiency in Python and solid software development principles (design patterns, SOLID).
• Deep understanding of animation/VFX pipelines and data flow across departments.
• Proven experience developing pipeline tools and improving production workflows.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work across technical and non‑technical teams.
