Senior Copywriter - Oncology

About the role

Klick, a health marketing and advertising agency founded in 1997, is hiring a Senior Copywriter for its Creative Craft team in Toronto. The role partners with Art Directors, Strategy, Medical and Client Service teams to develop oncology-focused creative that is strategically grounded and medically accurate, leading concept development and copy execution across campaigns while mentoring junior creatives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop oncology campaign concepts and long- and short-form copy for digital, print and integrated channels with Art Directors and Strategy partners.
• Present creative concepts and campaign rationale to clients and stakeholders, aligned to brand strategy and competitive oncology positioning.
• Work with Science and Regulatory teams to ensure claims accuracy, reference validation and compliance.
• Lead and mentor junior copywriters by reviewing drafts, giving structured feedback and guiding projects from brief through production.
• Manage multiple oncology projects at once, meeting timelines, budgets and production requirements (shoots, CGI, stock, digital assets).

Required profile

• 3+ years of pharmaceutical or healthcare agency copywriting experience with a portfolio showing oncology campaign work across channels.
• Experience writing HCP and/or patient-facing oncology materials reviewed by regulators and substantiated.
• Experience presenting creative concepts to clients and defending strategic rationale.
• Bachelor's degree in Advertising, Marketing, Communications, Writing or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.

Desired profile

• Comfort and enthusiasm for using AI regularly in the workflow.
• Experience on oncology product launches or competitive brand environments.
• Experience supervising or mentoring junior creatives.
• Familiarity with pharmaceutical production processes (print, digital, CGI, photo shoots).
• Experience in other therapeutic areas such as women's health.

The base salary range is CAD 80,000 - 95,000, depending on location, skills, education and experience. The posting is for a new position and is listed as hybrid.
