Senior Communications Specialist

About the role

Toronto Global is seeking a Senior Communications Specialist on a full‑time, 12‑month contract to shape and share the story of the Toronto Region. The role will support major brand campaigns, executive communications, content marketing, social media strategy, and client‑facing initiatives that position the city as a top destination for global investment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead client marketing support for the Investment Attraction team, managing client relationships, media releases, PR/media relations, event coordination, content creation, and stakeholder engagement.
• Develop and execute compelling content for digital channels, social media, and brand campaigns.
• Craft executive messaging and high‑impact materials that illustrate the business case for investing in Toronto.
• Collaborate with writers, designers, strategists, and video producers to produce audience‑focused stories.
• Support events and help build Toronto Global’s international profile.

Required profile

• Proven communications professional with strong editorial judgment.
• Ability to translate strategy into clear, audience‑focused narratives.
• Comfortable working with senior leaders and cross‑functional teams.
• Detail‑oriented, capable of both big‑picture thinking and precise execution.
• Experience in public relations, brand storytelling, and stakeholder engagement.
