Senior Accountant

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join a leading distribution organization on a six‑month contract with the possibility of extension. This hybrid role (2‑3 days onsite) will support day‑to‑day accounting operations and drive process improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Manage full‑cycle accounting activities, including journal entries, accruals, and month‑end close.
• Prepare and analyse monthly financial statements and management reports.
• Perform balance‑sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions.
• Provide financial analysis to aid business decisions.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies and support audit requirements.
• Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes and reporting.
• Participate in ERP‑related initiatives and process‑improvement projects.

Required profile

• 5+ years of progressive full‑cycle accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of general accounting principles and month‑end close processes.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent communication and collaborative skills.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (complex formulas, data analysis, reporting).
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics 365.
