SCADA & DWRR Design Specialist

About the role

The SCADA & DWRR Design Specialist supports the design, integration and delivery of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and Distributed Wireless Radio Relay (DWRR) systems for a major rail infrastructure project in Ontario. The role works closely with design leads, subcontractors and stakeholders to ensure system interfaces meet safety, reliability and schedule requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise design and interface deliverables for SCADA & DWRR systems, reviewing documentation from designers and subcontractors.
• Track deliverables, monitor compliance with project schedules, and maintain interface registers, action logs and issue tracking.
• Support technical reviews of conceptual, preliminary and detailed designs, ensuring proper cable routing, power requirements and equipment layouts.
• Assist in evaluating RFIs, DCNs and FCNs, reviewing shop drawings, product data sheets and software release notes.
• Prepare regular progress reports, risk registers and maintain records of meetings and design decisions.

Required profile

• 3‑6 years of experience in SCADA & DWRR system design for railway or large infrastructure projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical or Systems preferred).
• Demonstrated knowledge of interface management, systems engineering and configuration management.

• CAD and Bluebeam for design documentation
