Recruitment Coordinator

About the role

Join a dynamic People Recruitment & Total Rewards team supporting BC Ferries’ mission to connect communities. As a Recruitment Coordinator you will partner with an Advisor and another coordinator to manage end‑to‑end hiring for operational, corporate, exempt and bargaining‑unit positions.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate recruitment activities from job posting and candidate screening through onboarding, ensuring compliance with internal policies and collective agreements.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for candidates and hiring managers, providing guidance and timely communication throughout the hiring process.
• Partner with workforce planning, scheduling services and operational leaders to understand hiring needs and facilitate employee movement.
• Build talent pipelines and promote BC Ferries’ employer brand through sourcing initiatives, career fairs and community outreach.
• Participate in interviews, support candidate assessments and ensure a positive candidate experience.
• Guide candidates through pre‑employment checks, offer documentation and Transport Canada requirements.
• Maintain applicant tracking systems, recruitment databases and personnel files with accuracy and confidentiality.
• Identify opportunities to improve recruitment processes and enhance efficiency.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with multiple stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
