Quality Control Technician

About the role

Wilco Contractors Northwest Inc. is seeking a detail‑oriented Quality Control Technician to support its civil construction projects. The role involves ensuring QA/QC standards are met, collecting field data, and coordinating testing activities on‑site.

Key responsibilities

• Implement QA/QC activities in line with company, client, regional, and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate on‑site testing personnel and verify testing locations meet project specifications.
• Log, collect, and maintain accurate testing and quality control records.
• Assist with field data collection, surveying, and earthworks tasks.
• Provide timely project updates to coordinators and managers.
• Manage on‑site truck tickets and material entry/exit documentation.
• Support project documentation and learn the submittal process.
• Utilize technology and software systems, including Nektar, for asset management and tracking.
• Collaborate with project teams to meet schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
• Maintain accurate records for project reporting and promote a strong safety culture.

Required profile

• Post‑secondary education in Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Engineering Technology, Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field (asset).
• Previous experience in civil construction, earthworks, surveying, quality control, or project coordination (preferred).
• Strong computer aptitude with the ability to learn new software quickly.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to accurately collect, record, and manage project data.
• Capability to read and interpret drawings, plans, and specifications (asset).
• Experience with GPS machine control, survey equipment, GIS, or construction management software (asset).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
