Project Manager - Construction

About the role

Traugott Building Contractors Inc. is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead commercial, residential, retail, and institutional construction projects in Calgary. Reporting to the Director of Construction, you will oversee every phase from planning through close‑out, ensuring safety, schedule, and quality standards are met.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and prepare project startup, pre‑construction planning, and review drawings, specifications, and contracts.
• Develop execution plans, schedules, and procurement strategies; coordinate consultants, permits, and approvals.
• Manage subcontractor tendering, scope reviews, and oversee subcontract administration.
• Direct project teams, support site Superintendents, and maintain client, consultant, and subcontractor relationships.
• Run project meetings, monitor progress, and resolve issues promptly.
• Manage budgets, forecasts, cash flow, purchase orders, change orders, and ensure contractual compliance.
• Champion safety and quality, conduct reviews, implement improvements, and lead turnover, warranties, and as‑built documentation.

Required profile

• 8–15 years of construction experience with at least 5 years in project management.
• Proven success delivering ICI and multi‑family projects ranging from $5M to $100M+.
• Strong leadership, communication, and client‑management abilities.
• Degree or diploma in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Preferred certifications: Gold Seal, PMP, CSTS 2020, First Aid/CPR, WHMIS.
