Procurement Specialist

About the role

MatchBox Consulting Group is seeking a proactive Procurement Specialist to support procurement and sourcing activities for a construction client in Alberta. The role requires strong analytical abilities and the capacity to work independently in a fast‑paced industrial environment.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate procurement of goods and services in line with category strategies, policies, and operational needs.
• Build and maintain relationships with local operations teams to anticipate needs and support business objectives.
• Support RFx processes, supplier negotiations, and contract implementation.
• Manage supplier relationships for equipment, maintenance services, and operational support vendors.
• Compose contracts and agreements using approved templates and procurement guidelines.
• Analyze spend data, trends, and supplier performance to identify cost‑saving opportunities.
• Monitor procurement KPIs, supplier performance metrics, and ensure compliance with safety and internal controls.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders to improve operational efficiency.
• Assist with contractor setup and compliance related to safety and operational standards.

Required profile

• 2–5 years of procurement experience, preferably in construction or related industrial environments.
• Strong analytical and data‑management capabilities.
• Self‑starter with the ability to work independently and solve problems proactively.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Valid driver’s licence.
