People Relations Partner

About the role

As a People Relations Partner at H&M Group, you will support the Toronto Support Office by delivering consistent, compliant People Relations practices. You will manage labor law matters, employee cases, workplace wellbeing, and collaborate across functions to create a safe and engaging environment.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with local labour laws, regulations and collective agreements.
• Build and maintain relationships with employee representatives, works councils and unions.
• Provide expert advice on labour law, work environment, wellbeing and employee case management.
• Support individual employee cases, internal investigations, grievances and disciplinary actions.
• Assist Store Managers with illness‑related cases and guide difficult conversations, ensuring compliance with legislation such as the gatekeeper law.
• Conduct and support arbitration processes and manage the local grievance mechanism.
• Participate in change and strategic initiatives requiring People Relations expertise.
• Partner with business leaders to deliver People Relations strategies that balance global direction with local compliance.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally to secure a safe, healthy and inclusive work environment.
• Facilitate training and communication for managers on labour relations, health & safety and employee engagement.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of Canadian labour legislation and collective agreements.
• Experience handling employee relations cases, investigations and grievance processes.
• Ability to advise and coach managers on complex people issues.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Proactive attitude towards supporting organisational change.
