Payroll Analyst – 35 hrs (Hybrid)

About the role

The Payroll Analyst supports employees with pay and pension matters for the J.W. Singleton Education Centre. Working 35 hours per week, the role combines bi‑weekly payroll processing, pension administration and employee data maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Process full‑cycle bi‑weekly payroll for salary and hourly staff in union and non‑union environments.
• Administer new hires, salary adjustments, leaves, statutory pay and terminations.
• Prepare year‑end reporting, including T4s and pension statements.
• Calculate and verify earnings, deductions, EI, CPP, tax, union dues and pension contributions.
• Respond to employee, OMERS and Teachers’ Pension inquiries and manage pension enrollment eligibility.
• Generate payroll and deduction reports, maintain employee files and issue Records of Employment.
• Train new analysts and document payroll/pension procedures.

Required profile

• Post‑secondary diploma in Business Administration, Accounting or Bookkeeping.
• Minimum two years of payroll‑related experience.
• PCP – Payroll Compliance Professional certification.
• Preferred: four years of experience, CHRP certification, familiarity with unionized environments and external payroll providers.
